09 JanuaryPravasi Bharatiya Divas (In English : Non-resident Indian Day), is celebrated in India on 9 January each year to mark the contribution of the overseas Indian community to the development of India. The day commemorates the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa in Bombay on 9 January 1915.

10  January World Laughter Day takes place on the first Sunday of May of every year . The first celebration was on January 10, 1998, in Mumbai, India, and was arranged by 
Dr. Madan Kataria, founder of the worldwide Laughter Yoga movement.



12 January National Youth Day is celebrated in India on 12 January on the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. In 1984 the Government of India declared the day as the National Youth Day and since 1985 the event is celebrated in India every year.



15 January  : Army Day is celebrated on 15 January every year in India, in recognition of Lieutenant General (later Field MarshalK. M. Cariappa's taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India, on 15 January 1949.

17 January : The Election Commission of India setup day.



23 January Desh Prem Divas (Patriot’s Day) is celebrated in India on 23 January on the birthday of  Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.


24 JanuaryNational girl child day is celebrated every year on 24th of January as a national observance day for the girl child. This celebration was started to offer more supports and new opportunities to the girls in the country. 


25 January In order to encourage more young voters to take part in the political process, Government of India has decided to celebrate January 25 every year as National Voters Day. It started from January 25th 2011 to mark Commission's foundation day.


26 January In India, Republic Day honors the date on which the Constitution of India came into force on 25 January 1950 replacing the Government of India Act (1935) as the governing document of India. The Constitution was passed by the Constituent Assembly of India on 26 November 1949 but was adopted on 26 January 1950 with a democratic government system, completing the country's transition toward becoming an independent republic. 26 January was selected for this purpose because it was this day in 1930 when the Declaration of Indian Independence (Purna Swaraj) was proclaimed by the Indian National Congress.


27 JanuaryInternational Holocaust Remembrance Day, is an international memorial day on 27 January commemorating the victims of the Holocaust. It commemorates the genocide that resulted in the death of an estimated 6 million Jews, 1 million Gypsies, 250,000 mentally and physically disabled people, and 9,000 homosexual men by the Nazi regime and its collaborators.

30 January :  Mahatma Gandhi Death Anniversary , Leprosy eradicating day,Amaraveerula Samskarana Dinotsavam.
